#afternoonsatthewaterfront

After lunch we get our swim gear together and then head down to our beautiful mile long lake. It is here that swimming, boating and water adventure takes place!

Swim lessons go for 40 mins, Boating for 40 minutes and then water adventure goes for 30-40 minutes also.

Swim ranks are turtles, dolphins and sharks. These determine which swim area you use and what you need to work on and develop. The aim of turtles is to get campers familiar with the water and teach basic floats and technique. From here they move to be dolphins, where they swim where they can't touch the bottom, work on their strokes and treading water and learn how to dive. Once graduated from dolphins you become a shark! Sharks are more squad like and the most advanced group. These swimmers can dive confidently and perform at least front crawl, back stroke and breast stroke to a high level. All counsellors are qualified life guards and we have qualified swim instructors too!!

Boating options are Sail boats, canoes, fun yaks and row boats. Campers learn basic techniques and can go out on the   water by themselves or with counsellors. We give campers the opportunity to learn and try as many different boats as they can!
